Discografia Slayer

 

Eu considero o Slayer a mais importante banda de Thrash Metal do mundo. Muitos preferem o Metallica, mas o Slayer está acima, principalmente por não ter tantos altos e baixos na carreira. Formado em 1981 na Califórnia, o conjunto de Tom Araya (vocal e baixo), Jeff Hanneman (guitarra), Kerry King (guitarra) e Dave Lombardo (bateria), mantém uma carreira sólida e fiel a seu estilo até os dias atuais. O Slayer ditou o rumo a ser seguido pelo Thrash Metal com sua obra-prima Reign In Blood (1986). A banda sempre sofreu com diversas acusações pelo conteúdo de suas letras, estas críticas vem geralmente de grupos religiosos, ou de associações anti-nazismo. Estes fatos inclusive, atrapalharam a banda, principalmente para a realização de shows em certas regiões. Estes fatos só foram superados no início dos anos 90, apesar de até hoje muitos torcerem o nariz para o conjunto. Recentemente, Tom Araya revelou ser cristão (!!!), fato que desagradou, ou melhor, decepcionou muitos fãs da banda.

 O técnico de guitarra de Kerry King por muitos anos, Armand Crump, faleceu hoje. Sua passagem despertou reações de várias bandas e amigos nas redes sociais.

Kerry King : "Holy shit. Nunca pensei que eu iria escrever isso. O mundo perdeu um grande homem ontem. Foi um dia extremamente difícil para mim, eu não posso imaginar como ele foi para sua família e Cassie. Escusado será dizer, ninguém viu esta vinda. Eu pensei que tinha um técnico de guitarra grande até o dia em que eu me aposentar. VIDA é curta desfrutar o que você tem enquanto você tê-lo.

Eu era um dos poucos afortunados. Eu o vi sexta-feira, ele jogou algumas nova Slayer e assisti-lo bater a cabeça e tocar guitarra de ar. O que um grande cara!! Eu ainda tenho o que pode ter sido seu último abraço de homem. Love que ya amigo."
