Discografia Sodom

 

O Sodom foi formado na Alemanha no começo da década de 80', mais especificamente no ano de 1981 por Tom Angelripper (Tomas Such) no baixo e vocal, Agressor (Frank Testegen) guitarra e vocal e Chris Witchhunter (Christian Dudeck) na bateria. O Sodom é um grupo de muito sucesso, tanto comercial, quanto com seu público. Desde sua fundação, o Sodom jamais parou. O máximo de tempo em pausa nunca passou de apenas três anos. A banda influenciou não apenas no Thrash Metal, como também junto com Slayer e Death, ajudou a moldar o que conhecemos hoje como Death Metal, e também com suas letras, influenciou no Black Metal. Seu primeiro trabalho como banda foi a demo "Witching Metal" de 1982. Em seguida veio a outra demo "Victims of Dead" de 1984. Aqui nesses dois primeiros lançamentos, você aprecia um Metal Extremo muito bem executado (apesar da qualidade de gravação, mas vamos deixar isso de lado), é Metal Extremo mesmo, porque, eu não gosto de dizer "Black/Death/Thrash Metal". É melhor dizer logo Extremo!!
Depois dessas duas demos, temos em fim o seu 1° lançamento oficial, o EP "In The Sign of Evil", que também sai em 1984, e, é claro, aqui é melhor você mesmo definir se é Thrash, Death ou Black ou então simplesmente não tente definir, afinal o que importa é o resultado final da coisa toda.
O "debut album" "Obsessed By Cruelty" vem em 1986, com Angelripper (baixo e vocal), Witchhunter (bateria) e Destructor (guitarra), pois Agressor saiu antes mesmo de gravar o primeiro EP. Esse disco coloca o Sodom na rota do Thrash Metal mundial, já que a década em questão, foi muito boa para quem fazia Thrash na época.

Agora com Frank Blackfire nas guitarras, a banda solta um álbum atrás do outro: "Expurse of Sodomy", um EP de 1987, "Persecution Mania" de 1987, o ao vivo "Mortal Way of Live" de 1988, "Agent Orange" de 1989, esse último consolidou de vez o Sodom como grande banda. Foi neste ano que os Playboys do Sepultura excursionaram com o Sodom, e foi aí que teve bronca, na época isso deu problema, ora, ora, ambos estavam no auge de suas carreiras (Sepultura tava começando a estourar, então estavam com o ego lá em cima), foi inevitável.
E em fim o EP "Ausgebombt" de 1989. Todos esses lançamentos com uma única formação que se manteve desde o lançamento de "Expurse of Sodomy". Agora com o status de grande banda o Sodom lança em 1990 o álbum "Better Off Dead" com um novo guitarrista no line-up Michael Hoffman "Micha" que só fica no grupo até a gravação do EP "The Saw Is The Law" e juntamente com Witchhunter deixam o Sodom em 1992. Para as gravações de "Tapping The Vein". no mesmo ano, são convocados: Atomic Steif (Guido Richter) como baterista e Andy Brings para a guitarra. essa formação grava além de "Tapping The Vein", o EP "Aber Bitte Mit Sahne" de 1993, o álbum "Get What You Deserve" e o ao vivo "Marooned Live" ambos de 1994. "Marooned" também marca a saída do guitarrista Andy. "Masquerade In Blood", 1995 (um dos mais pesado do Sodom) conta com Strahli (Dirk Strahlimeier) no posto de guitarrista, o mesmo não fica muito tempo na banda e logo sai. Um conjunto como o Sodom depois de 15 anos de carreira, já era a hora para presentear os fans com uma bela coletanêa, e ela veio: "Ten Black Years" foi o título escolhido; um CD duplo lançado em 1996 contendo todos o clássicos da banda.

Bernemann (Bernd Kost) é o novo guitarrista do Sodom, e para estrear a nova formação que além de contar com Bernemann tem também o baterista Bobby (Konrad Schottkowski) e Tom Angelripper no baixo e vocal (é claro!!), com essa formação - a mais estável de todas - lançam sequencialmente "Till Death Do Us Unite" de 1997, "Code Red" de 1999 (que é mais um puta álbum!!), "M-16" de 2001, o ao vivo duplo "One Night In Bangkok" de 2003, o DVD duplo "Lords of Depravity Pt.1" sendo o CD 1 com entrevistas, material antigo e raro e um pouco da história da banda (em breve eu colocarei aqui) e o CD 2 que é basicamente um série de shows em lugares como: WOA, Sophia e alguns video-clipes.

Em 2006 o sai álbum auto-intitulado, que na minha opinião, é foda!. O álbum "The Final Sign of Evil" de 2007 é uma releitura do EP de 1984 "In The Sign of Evil" com a adição de algumas músicas que eram pra ter entrado neste play, mas a gravadora não permitiu que isso acontecesse. Tom, convidou Chris Witchhunter e Grave Violator, bateria e vocal respectivamente, para gravar as faixas deste álbum , mas é claro, logo depois eles foram embora e em 7 de setembro de 2008 Chris falece, ele foi o batera original do Sodom desde sua fundação em 81, permaneceu no grupo até 1992 e só brevemente retornou em 2007.

O ano é 2010 chega com mais um lançamento, o "In War and Pieces", segundo o próprio Tom, "Nenhum disco do Sodom soa tão destruidor, tão poderoso, tão Sodom quanto este". E é verdade. Este álbum é pesado e agressivo do jeito e na medida que deve ser. Em novembro deste mesmo ano, depois de 13 anos, Bobby deixa a banda e logo no mês seguinte, é substituido por "Makka" Freiwald" que já tocou em bandas como Moonspell, Kreator e Rotting Christ. ainda em 2010 é lançado a segunda parte do DVD "Lords of Depravity Pt. 2" que no DVD 1 conta por completo toda a história da banda e de alguns dos projetos do Tom. Um deles é o Onkel Tom Angelripper um projeto paralelo ao Sodom em que ele canta sobre bebedeiras e sacanagem, esse projeto começou em 1996. E também o Desperados, aqui ele toca um Heavy Metal muito bem tocado (claro!) e ainda tem direito a música natalina.
