Discografia Sepultura

Em 1985 os mineiros do Sepultura lançavam seu primeiro registro fonográfico, Bestial Devastation, um Split-LP com o também mineiro Overdose. Esse foi apenas o primeiro passo rumo à consagração. Mal sabiam aqueles garotos de Belo Horizonte que viriam a ser a maior banda de Metal do Brasil em todos os tempos e, em determinado momento, uma das maiores do mundo! Mas, naquela fase, o grupo contava com Max Possessed (Max Cavalera) no vocal e guitarra, Tormentor (Jairo Guedez) na guitarra, Destructor (Paulo Jr.) no baixo e Igor Skullcrusher (Igor Cavalera) na bateira. Após o primeiro álbum, Morbid Visions, Jairo é substituído por Andreas Kisser, que gravou o Schizophrenia (1987), disco que levou o Sepultura a conquistar um contrato com a gravadora Roadrunner Records. Então, vem o clássico Beneath The Remains (1989). Daí pra frente ocorreu uma sequência que levou a banda ao estrelato. Álbuns como Arise (1991) e Chaos A.D. (1993) foram aclamados em todos os continentes, culminando com Roots (1996) e, infelizmente, a saída de Max, que em seguida fundou a banda Soulfly. Após um período de incertezas, o vocalista Derrick Green é anunciado e, então, começa uma nova fase, que jamais atingiu os mesmos patamares. Após gravar o cd Dante XXI, Igor Cavalera deixou a banda e foi substituído por Jean Dolabella (Igor e Max trabalham atualmente no projeto Cavalera Conspiracy). Após apostar em um trabalho conceitual sobre "A Divina Comédia" (Dante XXI), a banda lança mais um trabalho neste estilo, A-Lex de 2009, inspirado no perturbador clássico da literatura mundial "A Laranja Mecânica" de Anthony Burgess.
